🚨 BOJ raised rates… but the yen still fell. 🇯🇵👀
The Bank of Japan lifted rates 25bp to 1.25%, the highest level in 31 years.
The vote was 7 to 2.
Yet USD/JPY jumped as high as 158.05.
Why?
Because the hike was already expected.
Markets wanted a clear signal about future hikes, but Governor Ueda kept the path flexible and data dependent.
Meanwhile, the US Japan rate gap is still supporting the yen carry trade.
And Bitcoin?
BTC rebounded about 5.9% toward $81K despite the BOJ tightening. 📈₿
