Why does this matter for cryptocurrencies?

🔴 1. The Strait of Hormuz: The Primary Geopolitical Risk
The conflict between the U.S. and Iran continues to impact the global energy market.
On October 18, Iran reiterated its readiness to resume shipping through the Strait of Hormuz—provided its demands are met. However, negotiations remain at a standstill.
On October 14, Brent crude was trading above $106 per barrel.
Why does this matter for cryptocurrencies?
➡️ High oil prices sustain inflationary pressure.
➡️ High inflation limits the Federal Reserve's ability to cut interest rates.
➡️ High interest rates make risk assets less attractive.
➡️ Bitcoin and altcoins may face additional selling pressure. My conclusion: as long as there is no sustained de-escalation and normalization of energy supplies, the risk of further waves of volatility remains high.

🟡 A split in control between the parties could increase the role of negotiation in financial policy.
