#Plasma = offchain processing + ZK proofs, an EVM-compatible payments L1 anchored to Bitcoin. Zero-fee USDT transfers, second-level confirmations. Built for stablecoin settlement that actually moves, not just tweets.

Why it matters now:

• Mainnet launch saw $2B+ stables active on day one, liquidity spread across 100+ DeFi protocols. Real distribution, not slide decks.

$XPL opened with ~10% flowing into public sale. Ownership over whales.

• Short-term bear pressure is heavy, but the thesis is simple: near-zero cost + fast finality wins stable rails.

If Plasma sustains zero-fee transfers and seconds-level settlement while keeping DA credible via ZK, it’s a functional settlement layer for everyday stablecoin commerce. Payments need throughput, UX, and trust minimization. This hits all three.

What I’m testing next:

• Consensus latency end-to-end for payment dApps

• Gas abstraction paths for users and merchants

• TPS under real workloads, not synthetic benchmarks

• Contract deployment ergonomics and edge cases
