When I first saw restaking, I thought, “This looks nice. My asset can work and earn something extra.”
But after thinking more, I saw one small problem.
It is a bit like a child putting their favorite toy inside a locked box.The toy’s safe inside, and who knows — it might even be doing something useful.But when the child wants to play with it, they cannot touch it. Then the toy does not feel very useful anymore.
That is why Bedrock’s liquid token design is important.
In the market, people do not only want rewards. They also want freedom. They may want to move their asset, borrow against it, trade it, or change their plan when the market changes. If ETH, BTC, or IOTX is busy in staking or restaking somewhere behind the curtain, the user still needs something usable in their hand.
Bedrock tries to make this easier with tokens like uniETH, uniBTC, and uniIOTX. The original asset can keep working in the background, while the user holds a liquid token that shows their position. In simple words, Bedrock is trying to stop restaking from feeling like money locked inside a box.
Imagine a BTC holder. They want extra yield, but they do not want their BTC position to become completely stuck. With something like uniBTC, that position can still be more useful across DeFi.$WLD $EUL
