Web3 Community Launches “Crypto Aid Israel” Amid Israel-Hamas Standoff

Crypto Aid Israel has set up a special wallet that can accept donations in over a dozen different cryptocurrencies. These include well-known ones like BTC (Bitcoin), ETH (Ethereum), USDT (Tether), USDC (USD Coin), and more.

As tensions between Israel and Hamas escalated into a full-scale conflict, crypto investors have been closely monitoring the situation. In response to the crisis, Israel’s Web3 community has launched an initiative called “Crypto Aid Israel.” The goal is to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict, which has tragically claimed the lives of over 700 Israelis in recent attacks.

Fireblocks, a leading Israeli platform in the web3 space, is spearheading this initiative. They are responsible for overseeing and managing the collected assets, ensuring the secure handling of donations to inspire confidence among potential contributors.

This isn’t the first time the crypto community has stepped up for humanitarian aid. Last year, during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, people from around the world donated millions of dollars in cryptocurrency to provide aid to Ukraine.

Israel boasts a vibrant crypto community and is home to some of the world’s top cryptocurrency exchanges. What’s noteworthy is that Israeli regulators and banks have been quick to support their local crypto community.

In early 2022, one of Israel’s largest banks, Bank Leumi, took a significant step by allowing Bitcoin and Ethereum trading. They joined forces with the digital platform Pepper Invest to make this happen. Pepper Invest takes care of the complex tax aspects of cryptocurrency trading, ensuring compliance with Israel Tax Authority guidelines and the proper collection of taxes.
