How to Report Stolen Funds Transferred to Binance

2018-01-15 07:19
If you’ve fallen victim to cyber theft and the stolen funds have been moved to a Binance account, please contact Binance Support and provide the following:
  • A detailed description of how the incident happened and when did it happen;
  • Screenshots/videos of you logging in to the account. This can help Binance confirm that you’re the owner of the wallet that was being hacked.
  • Details of the transaction: which wallet was hacked, and the account that received the hacked funds.
  • A list of all the blockchain transactions involved (TxID with clickable links).
1. Go to the hacked wallet and locate the transaction from the withdrawal history. Copy the TxID.
2. Go to a blockchain explorer (e.g., blockchain.com for Bitcoin transactions).
3. Search for the TxID.
4. Copy the page’s URL to share.
Important note:
  • Depending on the information provided, Binance may grant a temporary courtesy freeze of any allegedly stolen assets.
  • To keep the stolen assets frozen, you must provide a police report within 7 days after contacting Binance Support. Binance may extend the freeze period for you if you need more time to obtain a police report (on a case-by-case basis).
In addition, please ask law enforcement officials to contact Binance via the following methods (depending on their jurisdiction):
  • China (mainland):
    • Sign up here with an official law enforcement email address.
  • Russia and Belarus: Please email case@binanceholdings.ru.
  • Others (including Hong Kong/Taiwan/Macau): Sign up here with an official law enforcement email address.
*For more details on how to sign up, please refer to the guide in Government Law Enforcement Request System.
Binance will work with law enforcement officials directly to handle the stolen funds and resolve your case to the best of our ability. Please note that Binance may not be able to share further information on the investigations with you. You may reach out to law enforcement directly for further updates.
