DTCC just switched on tokenized U.S. stocks, ETFs, and Treasuries for Wall Street.

On October 28, 2026, The Depository Trust Company — DTCC’s depository arm — launched the DTCC Tokenization Service, minting digital twins of DTC-custodied securities that keep the same CUSIP, ownership rights, and investor protections as book-entry holdings. About 34 securities were eligible at launch, spanning select Russell 1000 equities, ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries with roughly $30 trillion in market value, while DTC still holds more than $114 trillion under custody overall.

Twenty DTC participants signed access agreements, including J.P. Morgan, Citi, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Fidelity, State Street, and UBS. Conversion orders run 2 a.m.–6 p.m. ET on business days with a sub-15-minute target; once tokenized, peer-to-peer transfers between registered wallets run 24/7 on Canton Network and DTCC’s private Besu chain, with more networks planned for 2027.
