BlockBeats news, October 12 — According to Axios, a White House official said that the "energy ceasefire" between Russia and Ukraine announced by Trump on Sunday refers to a potential agreement. The official said that if both sides stop attacking oil refineries, the next step could be an agreement to stop attacks on power plants and energy grids. The White House official called the agreement a "refinery-for-refinery" proposal, but the plan is clearly asymmetrical. A Ukrainian official said that Ukraine has only one oil refinery, which has been attacked by Russia multiple times and is currently unable to operate at full capacity. Russia, by contrast, has a vast refining network. The White House official warned that Ukraine's attacks on Russian oil refineries may cause more damage to Zelensky's relationship with Trump than to Russia. The White House official said: "Trump is really angry. He feels Zelensky takes America for granted." As the Ukraine crisis continues, U.S. President's special envoy Witkoff and Kushner have suspended their originally scheduled trip to Moscow.
