$BTC IS GETTING BOUGHT SO WHY IS $85K STILL SO HARD TO CLEAR?
What caught my attention isn’t that Bitcoin is back near $85K. It’s the mismatch between strong spot demand and stubborn overhead supply.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs reportedly pulled in $2.39B during the week through Sept. 25, their strongest weekly inflow of 2026, extending a seven-session buying streak. Yet BTC is still trading around $84,856, with today’s high at just $85,115.
There’s an important distinction here.
ETF inflows tell us capital is entering Bitcoin exposure. They do not tell us that every dollar of that demand immediately translates into price expansion.
The market is meeting that demand with sellers around the $84K–$85K area, where concentrated long term holder supply has been identified.
And technically, BTC is holding above its short-term averages: MA7 $84,672, MA14 $84,516, MA28 $84,299.
That creates the real test.
If buyers keep absorbing supply, the $85K ceiling should eventually reveal whether this is accumulation or simply distribution into fresh demand.
For now, the interesting signal isn’t the ETF headline.
It’s how much supply Bitcoin must absorb before $85K stops acting like resistance.
