@PiCoreTeam has pushed out a significant KYC and Mainnet migration update that could unblock more than 914,000 Pioneers who were previously stuck in the verification process.

Duplicate-Account Flags Cleared for 417,000 Pioneers

Pi Network refined the process used to evaluate a KYC corner case involving Pioneers whose accounts were flagged for possible duplication. Over 417,000 Pioneers can now move forward in the KYC process following further evaluation that confirmed they are not duplicates. This does not replace other applicable KYC requirements and checks, which affected Pioneers must still satisfy.

This update is one example of why some groups of Pioneers may be unblocked from KYC or migration in batches rather than continuously. In certain corner cases, distinguishing genuine Pioneers from bad actors or those with policy violations can require additional analysis and custom technical solutions. Different groups may be blocked for different reasons, and once a solution for a particular issue is developed, tested, and released, the affected Pioneers can move forward.

Fast-Track Wallet Fix Due Within the Week

Some Pioneers obtained their Mainnet wallet through the Fast-Track process, which later served as the destination wallet for Mainnet migration. Because these wallets were not created through the traditional route of the standard KYC and migration process, those Pioneers have been unable to claim their migration balance due to an insufficient Pi balance to cover the required gas fee. Within the next week, an update will be deployed to unblock 497,000 Pioneers who are currently stuck due to this issue and to prevent recurrence for future similar cases by reconciling the gap between the two KYC routes that lead to migration.

Beyond the two headline fixes, Pi Network has also rolled out a series of smaller improvements. A one-month palm-print trial will test another human-verification method, alongside broader liveness support, machine-learning resource improvements, and new resubmission options. The update also covers users from Pi's earlier Yoti verification process. Some applications lacked required liveness data and could not advance. Affected Pioneers can now resubmit those KYC requests. Older handsets previously excluded from liveness checks are also now supported.

Figures cited in the official update indicated that approximately 16 million to 18 million of 60 million engaged Pioneers had completed migration before the latest fixes, leaving a substantial share of the network still working through the process. The latest batch of changes is aimed squarely at reducing that backlog.
