Sui (SUI) broke above the $1 threshold, surging nearly 24% over a 24-hour period. The move came as capital rotated broadly into Layer-1 blockchain tokens, with major altcoins including NEAR and Avalanche (AVAX) also posting double-digit gains.

According to crypto media outlet Odaily on the 21st, Sui climbed to $1.017 (approximately 1,400 won) during the session, marking a 24-hour gain of roughly 24%. The rally unfolded as Bitcoin pushed past $85,000 approximately 120 million won) intraday—its highest level in about eight months—with buying pressure spilling over into major altcoins.

Declining Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) prices, which have partially eased inflation concerns, were also cited as a backdrop that lifted risk appetite across asset classes.

Based on CoinMarketCap data, Sui rose approximately 14% over the day and 30.2% over the week, with daily trading volume up 26%. Open interest in Sui derivatives increased by roughly 21% over the same period, which analysts interpret as a sign of new positions being opened rather than existing positions being unwound.

Sui started the session at $0.8974, climbed to an intraday high of $0.9546, and subsequently traded near $0.936. Liquidations over the prior 24 hours totaled approximately $4.53 million (around 6.2 billion won), split almost evenly between long and short positions. This points to a market with mixed directional conviction rather than a one-sided short squeeze pressuring bearish traders.

The rally unfolded with Bitcoin holding near $81,500 (approximately 110 million won) and total crypto market capitalization approaching $2.8 trillion (approximately 3,841.5 trillion won). Global trading volume stood at roughly $76.3 billion (approximately 104.7 trillion won). The Fear & Greed Index remained in "greed" territory at 72, while Bitcoin dominance accounted for approximately 58.5% of the market.
