I keep coming back to something that doesn’t get enough attention in the tokenized securities conversation.
Everyone talks about putting stocks, bonds, and other assets on-chain. But what happens after I actually own one?
I still need to receive dividends. I might need to vote on a company decision. I could have to take part in some other shareholder action. These things sound boring, but honestly, they’re what make ownership real.
And I don’t think making everything public is the answer either.
If I own a security, why should everyone on the network be able to see every detail about me just because the asset lives on a blockchain?
That’s why selective disclosure makes sense to me. I should be able to prove that I’m eligible for something without handing over my entire financial profile.
This is one of the areas where I think tokenized securities still have a lot of work left.
Getting an asset onto a blockchain is one thing. Building all the everyday processes around ownership is another.
That’s also why I’d like to see Dusk spend more time exploring shareholder workflows, not just asset issuance.
For me, the real question is becoming pretty simple:
Would I care more about hiding the transaction itself, or keeping my ownership and shareholder information private?
