Are we expecting a new ICO boom?
ICO (Initial Coin Offering) is a form of fundraising where a project issues its own tokens and sells them to investors. ICO is like an IPO, but in crypto.
The US Senate has introduced a bill that allows startups to issue tokens (ICO) without SEC pressure, up to $75 million a year, totaling up to $300 million over 4 years.
Startups will be able to issue tokens (if they do not provide equity, dividends, or other “financial rights”), such assets will be considered “ancillary” and will not fall under SEC regulations. The key is not to mask securities as tokens.
It seems like the US is really preparing to legalize ICO in a new format.
Potentially, this move could invigorate the market and we are expecting an influx of new tokens, people, liquidity, and opportunities where profits can be made over coffee — just as we like it 😋
