Bitcoin Storage: A Security Upgrade from Exchanges to Cold Wallets
In the beginning, I kept my bitcoins on exchanges, thinking convenience was enough. It wasn't until I saw incidents like the Mt. Gox hack that I realized the importance of security. So, I purchased a hardware wallet (like Ledger) and transferred most of my BTC to cold storage, leaving only a small amount for trading. Controlling the private keys means you truly 'own' the bitcoins. This change allowed me to sleep more peacefully and deeply understand the meaning of 'Not your keys, not your coins'.
