- In March 2025, the UK surpassed China to become the second-largest holder of US government bonds after Japan.

📉 China now holds only $765 billion.

A decrease of $28 billion compared to the previous month, mainly due to continued sales of long-term bonds.

- The UK has surged to $780 billion. For the first time in over 20 years, the UK surpassed China in the amount of US bonds held.

- Japan still holds the top position. The total amount of US bonds held by Japan is $1.130 trillion, increasing for three consecutive months.

- Canada is also accumulating more strongly.

In March, an additional $20 billion, bringing the total to $426 billion.

📈 The total amount of US bonds held by foreign entities has reached a new record.

Globally, $9.050 trillion of US bonds are held, an increase of $233 billion in March.

🌍 No signs of foreign entities withdrawing from US bonds.

Despite Mr. Trump's tariffs on many countries and calling them exploiters, US bonds are still being actively purchased.

In summary:

- China is gradually jumping off the US debt list - giving way for the UK to sit... hold on.

- If the UK and Japan join forces to sell off their holdings, the US will be in trouble. But this scenario is unlikely to happen =))
