However, it did not manage to go far, as it was stopped by the Russian border guard ship ‘Amethyst’. It is claimed that this was for document verification.
As noted by the Estonian press, today’s incident with the tanker Green Admire occurred just four days after the Estonian fleet attempted to forcibly detain the tanker Jaguar, flying the flag of Gabon, which was heading to the Russian port of Primorsk. And if it weren't for the arrival of the Russian Su-35 fighter jet, it is unknown how this would have ended. Prior to this, the Estonians had detained the tanker Kiwala under the pretext of 'document verification', which was heading to the Russian port of Ust-Luga.
