According to data tracked by Arkham Intelligence, the U.S. government currently holds approximately 19,801,200 Bitcoin worth nearly 16 billion U.S. dollars. David Sachs, who heads digital currency affairs at the White House, stated that over the past decade, the U.S. government has retained around 400,000 Bitcoin through civil and criminal forfeitures, but half of that, about 195,000 Bitcoin, has been sold, generating revenue of 366 million U.S. dollars. If they had held onto all that Bitcoin, its value today would exceed 17 billion U.S. dollars.
