Cryptocurrency prices fell collectively during trading on Friday, including Bitcoin, despite U.S. President Donald Trump's reaffirmation of his support for the cryptocurrency industry.
During a video segment at the "Black Works" cryptocurrency conference in New York on Thursday, Trump emphasized the importance of legislating stablecoins to support the dominance of the dollar.
He added: "You are about to unleash tremendous economic growth. With dollar-backed stablecoins, you will help reinforce the dominance of the American currency, which will remain at the forefront for many years to come, and that is what we strive to maintain."
