#TrumpCongressSpeech 4 March 2025 at 21:19 Eastern Time, Donald Trump delivered a speech before a joint session of Congress. This was his fifth public address in this format, reminiscent in style of a State of the Union address. In his speech, Trump touched upon a wide range of issues, including rising egg and energy prices, support for law enforcement and firefighters, potential peaceful resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, as well as tariff policy.
The session was chaired by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who was accompanied by Vice President JD Vance. During the speech, an incident occurred — Congressman Al Eher attempted to interrupt the President and was removed from the chamber by the Sergeant-at-Arms.
After the speech, the Democratic response was delivered by Senator Elisa Slotkin from Michigan. In addition, Representative Adriano Espaillat from New York provided a response in Spanish, while Latefa Simon from California voiced the position of the Working Families Party.
