RAM Prices Revert to 2007 Levels as AI Demand Spikes RAM prices per gigabyte have fallen back to 2007 levels as AI demand strains memory chip supply, a scientist says, marking an unprecedented reversal in tech pricing history. How long can memory prices stay elevated before AI demand eases or new manufacturing capacity comes online? The answer will shape costs across every device category, from smartphones to AR glasses, that depends on memory chips. It will also test whether the decades-long assumption that hardware always gets cheaper still holds in an AI-driven market. https://www.bonuz.xyz/en/blog/ram-prices-revert-2007-levels-ai-demand

Google AI Shakeup: Jeff Dean and Top Staff Change Roles Several senior Google AI figures, including veteran engineer Jeff Dean, changed roles this week as Google faces pressure from Anthropic and OpenAI in the AI race. Does a leadership shakeup like this mean a company is fixing weaknesses, or losing its best people to rivals? Google's exits could be read either way. If top researchers keep leaving for Anthropic, OpenAI, or startups, that talent drain compounds. If Google is deliberately restructuring to move faster, the departures could prove a strength instead. https://www.bonuz.xyz/en/blog/google-ai-shakeup-jeff-dean

Apple Boosts Trade-In Values, Adds New Android Phones Apple increased trade-in credit for iPhones, Macs, iPads, and Apple Watches, and added new Android trade-ins including Pixel 9 and OnePlus 13 models. As device prices keep rising, will trade-in credit growth keep pace, or will upgrading eventually outpace what most people can recover from their old hardware? Apple's latest adjustments narrow that gap for now, but price hikes have moved faster than trade-in bumps in some cases. If future device categories, like AR glasses, follow the same pricing pattern, will trade-in programs become essential to affordability, or will they remain a minor perk for a shrinking group of upgraders? https://www.bonuz.xyz/en/blog/apple-trade-in-values-android-phones

Jony Ive's First OpenAI Gadget: Smart Speaker in 2027 OpenAI and former Apple designer Jony Ive are reportedly developing a doughnut-shaped smart speaker for 2027, priced above $300 (USD), marking OpenAI's first hardware device. OpenAI is betting on screenless, voice-first hardware years after smart speakers first went mainstream. Will this format become the default way people talk to AI, replacing phone apps entirely? Or will it stay one device among many, competing with smart glasses, phones, and existing speakers for a narrow slot in daily routines? https://www.bonuz.xyz/en/blog/jony-ive-openai-smart-speaker-2027

Coldcard Entropy Flaw Raises Hardware Wallet Security Fears A flaw in Coldcard's random number generation let attackers steal more than 1,596 Bitcoin. The incident is forcing hardware wallet makers to explain how they generate private keys. If randomness can fail silently inside devices built specifically to generate it, how much verification is enough before trusting any wallet with life-changing sums? Should the industry require third-party certification of every firmware version, or does security depend on users understanding the process themselves? The Coldcard incident does not answer this. It simply shows how rarely anyone asks it. https://www.bonuz.xyz/en/blog/coldcard-entropy-flaw-hardware-wallet-security

Ring Doorbell Deal: Wired Pro and Battery Plus Cut Price Ring has cut prices on its Wired Doorbell Pro and Battery Doorbell Plus, putting both video doorbells near their lowest prices of the year, per The Verge. If facial recognition and AI activity summaries already come standard with a $20 (USD) monthly doorbell subscription, how much will people expect that same capability for free once the camera moves from a fixed post at the front door to a frame worn on someone's face all day, and who gets to decide where that line sits for everyone? https://www.bonuz.xyz/en/blog/ring-doorbell-deal-wired-pro-battery-plus

Pokemon GO got a whole generation walking outside to catch imaginary monsters. Wild how well that worked. Big update on it though: Niantic sold Pokemon GO (plus Pikmin Bloom and Monster Hunter Now) to Scopely in 2025 for around $3.5B. Niantic kept the AI and mapping tech, spun it into a new company called Niantic Spatial. The games were the fun part. The location data underneath was the real asset. That's basically the direction gamification is heading now, quests, loyalty and rewards tied to real-world presence, built into apps people already use instead of one standalone game. Would you actually walk somewhere for a digital reward today, or did that novelty wear off with Pokemon GO? Circle (CRCL) opened down ~6% this morning, from Friday's $62.58 close into the high $58s. First minute alone traded ~1.9M shares, near a quarter of a normal day's volume, in 60 seconds. Why: Morgan Stanley cut Circle to Underweight, slashed its target 60% to $38. Same morning, TD Cowen initiated at Buy, still liking the platform's economics. Two banks, opposite calls, same day, right at the open. Backdrop: Circle reports Q2 earnings Wednesday, market expects a YoY decline, days after Circle landed a New York trust charter for USDC. Bernstein trimmed its target too but kept Outperform. Not financial advice, just wild watching a stock get pulled two ways by two banks in one morning, on a company whose whole business is 24/7 digital dollars. Downgrade or initiation, which would you trust? Would a split call like this make you more or less likely to touch it before earnings? Green day across the board and somehow nobody's celebrating. BTC's back over $63K, up 1.3%, and total market cap is at $2.26T. But the real story is the alts - SOL up 3%, ETH up 2.5%, BNB up 2.4%, even DOGE joined in with almost 3%. Here's the weird part: Fear & Greed Index is still sitting at 27, dead in Fear territory, completely unmoved by the rally. Prices up, sentiment flat. That gap doesn't happen often. Are you buying into green days like this or waiting for sentiment to actually turn before you commit more? And does a fear reading this low with prices rising make you more confident or more suspicious? BTC quiet today. Price's sitting near $63,800, down about 1.2% in 24h after topping $65,305 and bottoming $63,567. Week's off 1.75%. Volume's running around $26.4B, well under what you'd see on a real breakout or breakdown day. Market cap holds at $1.28T. Still about 49% off the $126K all-time high. This is a range day, not a trend day. $65,300 capped the top, $63,500 held the bottom. Would you rather see BTC break that range up or down from here? Jonathan Teo, early Snapchat/Instagram investor, dropped alpha on BTX yesterday: a new mining algorithm, v4.6, he calls a leap in technical complexity. The only work chain requiring AI-exact computation (MatMul) as proof, not a SHA-256 hash lottery. btx.dev still shows v0.33.1 as current, expect it to catch up once v4.6 ships. Confirmed today: 21M capped supply, post-quantum signatures already live in production, mining runs on matrix-multiplication, same math behind AI models. That hardware can also run open AI models when it isn't mining. Teo's thesis: every capital cycle manufactures its own hedge asset, and permanent AI compute demand isn't guaranteed. He's positioning BTX as the hedge for the AI capex cycle. bonuz already supports BTX self-custodially, no seed phrase, directly mineable. Do you buy the hedge-asset-for-AI-capex thesis, or is that call early? Does post-quantum readiness matter to you yet? btx.dev #BTX #PostQuantum #AI

Banco Santander, Spain's largest bank, just disclosed a $4.3M Bitcoin position via an SEC filing. Bought through BlackRock's IBIT: 129,615 shares. This isn't a one-off. IBIT alone holds $46.9B in AUM, more inflows than any other crypto ETF. All US spot Bitcoin ETFs combined now sit above $83B, per CoinGlass, with BlackRock, Fidelity and Morgan Stanley all running competing products. Santander's digital bank Openbank already lets retail customers buy Bitcoin directly, so this ETF stake sits on top of an existing crypto push, not a first move. Worth asking: does a bank buying Bitcoin through an ETF actually validate the asset the same way self-custody does, or is it just a convenient wrapper? And how many more banks do you think quietly hold a position like this already? Full story: https://www.bonuz.xyz/en/blog/another-bank-buys-bitcoin-etf-trend #Bitcoin #Santander #ETF

1inch just opened Aqua, its shared-liquidity protocol, to 13 EVM chains: Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Arbitrum and more. Research commissioned by 1inch found 85% of $1.84B tracked across major DEXs sat underutilized in H1 2026. About $542M a week sits outside active trading ranges, missing an estimated $150M in fees a year. Aqua lets LPs use one wallet balance to back multiple positions instead of splitting capital into separate pools. A $100k balance can quote $300k combined across three positions. Backing the launch: a $1.37M incentive program (10M 1INCH + $500k USDC via Merkl) and 8 independent security audits. bonuz has been watching 1inch's work on capital efficiency. Stablecoin supply just had its worst month since Terra collapsed in 2022. USDT went from $189.5B to about $184B, USDC from $77.3B to $72.4B, total market cap down $13.9B from May's peak. Sounds bearish. It isn't. Stablecoin transaction volume hit a record $1.83 trillion in June, up 60% from May and more than double last year. Money isn't leaving, it's moving. Standard Chartered says stablecoins now turn over about 6x a month, roughly double the pace from two years ago. Some of the shrinking supply went into tokenized Treasuries instead, which can pay yield that regular stablecoins legally can't since the GENIUS Act. That market grew from $11B to over $16B since March. USDC is punching above its supply too, $1.21T in settlement volume in June vs $576B for USDT despite USDT's bigger float. Real payments (not just exchange noise) hit an estimated $390B in 2025 per McKinsey and Artemis data. Small slice of total volume, but growing fast. Tokenized stocks just crossed $9.22 billion in monthly on-chain volume. That's not a pilot anymore, that's a real market. Quick version: an issuer holds real shares with a custodian, mints tokens backed 1:1 against them. You get 24/7 trading, seconds-fast settlement, fractional access, but you're holding a claim on the stock, not shareholder-of-record status. No voting rights in most products, and your position depends on the issuer staying solvent. Solana handles about 95% of the volume. Securitize tokenized $295M of its own stock there on its NYSE debut day. And access keeps expanding fast: Robinhood Chain now offers tokenized stock trading, Backpack Exchange lists them too. bonuz already has a presence on Robinhood Chain, so this wave isn't some far-off thing for us, it's already where we operate.
