China Daily, a newspaper owned by the Chinese Communist Party, plans to create its own metaverse and nonfungible tokens (NFTs) platform. The company is offering $390,000 to a third-party contractor, either Chinese or foreign, that can design the platform within budget. The winning blockchain firm's mainnet must handle over 10,000 transactions per second. Contractors have until Oct. 17 to apply and must design the platform within three months. The China Daily NFT Platform aims to "improve the spread of the influence of the Chinese Civilization" using various technologies, including the metaverse, VR, AR, and blockchain.
