China has slashed its holdings of U.S. Treasuries to $822 billion, the lowest level since 2009. The Chinese government has sold about $300 billion worth of government debt starting in 2021, with sales accelerating in recent months.
China has sold $40 billion worth of securities since April, sending the 10-year Treasury yield to another 16-year high of more than 4.7%.
