The long-term vision of $ETH extends far beyond routine network upgrades.
Its proposed Lean @Ethereum roadmap focuses on redesigning the protocol across three foundational layers:
> Lean Consensus: Faster finality, stronger decentralization, and post-quantum signature support.
> Lean Data: Quantum-resistant blob commitments with more flexible data availability.
> Lean Execution: A lightweight, SNARK-friendly execution layer built to scale while maintaining EVM compatibility.
The objective goes beyond increasing throughput. $ETH aims to make the network easier to verify, simpler to formally prove, more resilient against attacks, prepared for quantum computing, and capable of scaling without compromising decentralization.
To support this effort, the Ethereum Foundation has formed a dedicated post-quantum team, while more than 10 client teams are already taking part in interoperability testing. Open-source projects like leanXMSS, leanVM, and leanSig are also actively under development.
The current roadmap targets full post-quantum readiness around 2029, with changes expected to roll out gradually rather than through a single major overhaul.

Summer Finance suffered an exploit that resulted in the loss of 6.017 million $DAI
The team says the issue affected the Lazy Summer Protocol. In response, all vaults have been paused and deposit caps across every supported network have been reduced to zero as a precaution.
The incident is still under investigation, and users are advised not to interact with the protocol until further updates are provided.
