When I first looked into Dusk, I focused mainly on its privacy technology. But the more I researched, the more interesting the XSC standard became.
XSC, or Confidential Security Contract, is designed around a simple but important problem: financial assets often need privacy without losing compliance and control. Traditional blockchains make transactions highly visible, while real-world financial markets often cannot operate that way.
What I find interesting about XSC is that it aims to bring confidentiality directly into security-token infrastructure. Things like ownership rules, transfers, investor requirements, voting and other financial conditions can potentially be handled while sensitive information remains protected.
That makes XSC more than just another token standard in my view. It is an attempt to build blockchain infrastructure around how regulated finance actually works.
Dusk’s real opportunity may therefore not be competing for every blockchain use case. It could be focusing on the part of finance where privacy, compliance and programmable assets have to work together.
If Dusk can turn that technical vision into real adoption, XSC could become one of its most important pieces.
