📧 I can’t do without Agent Mail anymore
Agent Mail is a set of CLI tools developed by Tencent Mail, letting me send and receive emails through the command line. At its core, it’s an email AI assistant.
Features include:
- Send, reply, and forward emails (supports HTML, attachments, cc/bcc)
- Search & read — keyword search, browse by folder, and read full content
- Attachment management — download regular attachments; for very large attachments, it provides a direct download link
- Inbox management — paginate by folder (Inbox/Sent/Spam/Spam emails) and mark as read/unread
Now I often use it to automatically send emails. No need to log in to the mailbox—reading, editing, replying, and mass mailing are all easy.
I’ve only started using it, so I haven’t built more scenarios yet. But first, it solved a troubling eye-care problem for me.
Spending long periods every day staring at my phone and computer left me with a strong need to protect my eyes.
So I started using an e-book reader—which is also why I still haven’t had to wear glasses after all these years.
Especially when using Agent tools like Hermes and Codex, my questions often get answered with long, detailed responses.
If I read them directly on my computer each time, it would be exhausting and very hard on my eyes.
So I came up with a method: when chatting with Hermes and Codex, I turn the generated results into a PDF file, then use Agent Mail to automatically send it to my email. Both steps are completed automatically by agents. Then, in the email app on my e-book reader, I download the PDF and enjoy reading—long sessions are much easier on my eyes.
