Amazon is not intending to clear out or sell cheap hardware; instead, it is exploring a deal to shift approximately $8 billion worth of top-tier Nvidia chips off its balance sheet. [1]

According to a Financial Times report published on October 2, 2026, Amazon.com Inc. plans to move thousands of its newly installed Nvidia Grace Blackwell AI chips into a newly created Special-Purpose Vehicle (SPV). [1, 2]

The Structure: Amazon will transfer $8 billion worth of hardware deployed across more than a dozen U.S. data centers into the $SPVM.ETF
. [1]

The Investor Offer: The vehicle will raise funds by issuing debt to outside investors (such as pension and insurance funds) and will offer an equity stake of up to 10% in the entity. [1, 2]

The Sale-Leaseback: Amazon will immediately lease the advanced chips back from the vehicle. This allow AWS to continue utilizing the top-tier computing power uninterrupted while shifting the massive capital expense off its books. [1, 2]
