According to CNBC, General Mills said Chief Operating Officer Dana McNabb will succeed longtime Chief Executive Jeff Harmening next year. The Cheerios maker said the leadership change comes as it faces margin pressure and has raised prices to offset higher input costs, including raw materials affected by U.S. import tariffs on metals such as aluminum and steel used in packaging. Harmening, who joined General Mills in 1994 and has been CEO since 2018, oversaw measures including the divestiture of some underperforming brands. McNabb has spent 27 years at General Mills and has held senior roles in general management, enterprise strategy, marketing and international operations. Earlier this month, the company beat first-quarter sales and profit estimates and reaffirmed its annual forecast. Shares were marginally higher at $34.03 in premarket trading.
