Bitcoin perpetual funding just hit a level we havenโ€™t seen in 20 months.

That doesnโ€™t automatically mean BTC has topped.

But it does tell me one thing: leverage is getting crowded.

When traders become heavily positioned on the same side, price doesnโ€™t need a huge catalyst to move violently. A small pullback can start liquidations, liquidations can accelerate selling, and suddenly a โ€œhealthyโ€ uptrend turns into a brutal flush.

The interesting part isnโ€™t simply the funding number.

Itโ€™s what BTC does next.

If price keeps grinding higher while funding cools down, that could signal the market is absorbing leverage.

But if funding stays extremely elevated while price starts losing key support, Iโ€™d be watching closely for a leverage reset.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Bullish trend + controlled funding = healthier setup.

โš ๏ธ Bullish trend + extreme funding = crowded trade.

The market can stay irrational longer than traders expectโ€ฆ but leverage eventually has to be paid for.

BTC doesnโ€™t need to crash. It just needs enough volatility to punish the crowded side.
