I keep getting stuck on the few minutes where Ethereum thinks a position is already finished, but Bitcoin has not agreed yet.

Aave can mark the loan unhealthy, trigger liquidation, and update the accounting quickly. But the collateral still lives under Bitcoin’s timing, proof flow, and settlement rules. So the system briefly holds two versions of reality. One chain has made the decision. The other is still proving that the decision can be enforced.

That gap looks like latency at first. I do not think it is only latency.

Babylon’s verification layer has to carry meaning from the Bitcoin vault into Ethereum, then back again through evidence, operators, and challenge logic. Each layer checks something slightly different. Eventually the liquidation engine stops asking whether settlement is complete and starts inheriting confidence from the previous proof.

That may be where $BABY becomes interesting. Not as payment for ordinary speed, but as the asset pricing how much trust the system needs while liquidation and settlement temporarily disagree.

The uncomfortable part is that this gap may widen exactly when markets are stressed. Faster liquidation, slower certainty. More confidence demanded from the layer in between.
