The provider coordinates the PegIn process, but once the required signatures are batched and published on Ethereum, they become publicly recoverable. Even if the provider disappears later, the completed setup data doesn’t disappear with it.
That doesn’t remove the provider’s role. Coordination is still essential before publication, and if participants fail to complete the required steps in time, the vault expires and the depositor falls back to the timelocked refund path.
To me, this is a practical balance.
The provider helps the process move forward without permanently controlling the signatures that make the vault possible.
