Wanchain October 2026 Recap: Everything You Missed 📰

Disclosure: I’m part of the Wanchain community. Not financial advice.

1. WAN burn allocation doubled
On Oct 2, the Convert n’ Burn upgrade went live. 20% of collected bridge fees now go to burning WAN, up from 10%. The 10 points came from the Community Treasury.
New fee split:
20% burn 20% Community Treasury 30% ongoing operations 10% Bridge Nodes 10% PoS Nodes 10% xWAN staking
Node operators and xWAN stakers keep their full shares.

2. Projected supply impact
At current bridge volumes, estimated burns are roughly 1.1M WAN per year against about 1.044M WAN in PoS emissions. That’s a net change of about -64,389 WAN per year. This is a projection, and actual burns move with bridge usage.

3. Governance: Proposal #2
After the first community-approved change went live, the next proposal focuses on deepening WAN/ETH liquidity on Uniswap. As of Oct 30 it had reached about 87% of its sponsorship target, with time still left to participate.

4. BridgeFi and Bridge-2-Earn
On Oct 23, 12+ new Bridge-2-Earn tasks were announced: bridge assets across chains and earn the task reward. Terms can change, so always check the live page first. Other ways to take part include xWAN staking, running or delegating to PoS and Bridge Nodes, and cross-chain swaps with XFlows.

5. NOW Wallet
WAN can now be stored, swapped and bought with fiat through NOW Wallet.

6. Cross-chain activity
The weekly Voyage Report named wanUSDT the top-moved asset, including a 109,000 USDT route from Wanchain to Arbitrum. GM Radio also returned to live X Spaces.

7. TOKEN2049 Singapore
The team attended TOKEN2049 and co-hosted the Pulsar Coffee Meetup on Oct 9 with Pulsar Money. Hundreds signed up, making it the biggest in the series so far.
