The XRP Ledger team just fixed a major bug that was hidden for over 10 years. This bug could have allowed bad actors to create brand new XRP out of thin air, breaking the strict 100 billion token supply limit.
Luckily, developers patched the system quietly before anyone could misuse it, and tests show no fake XRP was ever made on the main network. All node operators are advised to update their software immediately.
