Follow-up: the US government's bitcoin this week went to Coinbase Prime. All of it.
Oct-06 to Oct-08, government addresses moved 21,528 BTC in three waves: 833.6, then 8,427.6, then 12,267.0 BTC. Each wave began with tiny test deposits, then the coins went into Coinbase Prime deposit addresses and were swept into its hot wallet. That includes the 12,267.0 BTC first reported as going to unlabeled wallets.
Coinbase Prime holds and trades seized crypto for the US Marshals, so this is custody, not a confirmed sale, though a sale can still follow from there. The 94,643 BTC seized in 2022 still have not moved.
