#21shareslauncheseuropesfirstzcashetp 🛡️ Europe Just Opened a New Regulated Access Point for Zcash
21Shares has launched the 21shares Zcash ETP (ZCASH) on Euronext Amsterdam and Euronext Paris, giving European investors access to ZEC through a conventional brokerage structure rather than requiring direct custody of the cryptocurrency.
The product is physically backed by Zcash, carries a 2.5% annual product fee, and has the ISIN CH1608218801. 21Shares lists the product's inception date as September 21, 2026.
But the more interesting number right now is the size.
According to 21Shares, the new ETP has approximately $100K in AUM. That is still very small compared with the U.S. market.
🇺🇸 U.S. Zcash exposure has already reached a much larger scale.
Grayscale's Zcash fund, trading as ZCSH, crossed $500M in AUM within roughly two weeks of its August 25 NYSE Arca debut and reported holdings of more than 550,000 ZEC—roughly 3% of circulating supply based on the reported 16.9M circulating ZEC figure.
However, there is an important detail behind that $500M headline.
Regulatory filings show that approximately $100M came from DCG International Investments, an affiliate of the fund's sponsor, while reported outside inflows were a little over $70M during the initial period. That means AUM should not automatically be interpreted as $500M of new independent market demand.
The key numbers to watch from here are:
📊 European ETP AUM growth
💰 Net new inflows
🪙 ZEC held by regulated products
🏦 Institutional participation
🌍 Liquidity across European and U.S. markets
If European demand eventually approaches the scale seen in the U.S., regulated products could become an increasingly important part of the ZEC market structure.
For now, though, the story is about access arriving before demand has been proven.
