I’ve seen the privacy story play out in crypto more times than I can count. Every cycle brings a new project talking about privacy, compliance, scalability, or better user experience, and after a while, even genuinely useful ideas start sounding like recycled marketing.

That’s why I find Dusk Network worth watching. Not because I think it has solved everything, but because the basic question makes sense to me: do we really need every piece of financial activity exposed for everyone to see?

Probably not.

There’s a difference between hiding everything and sharing everything. Private logic, selective disclosure, and verifiable confidentiality are trying to sit somewhere in that uncomfortable middle ground.

But this is where I stay cautious. Good technology is one thing. Getting real people and institutions to actually use it is another. Privacy brings its own trade-offs, especially when usability, regulation, and trust enter the picture.

So I’m not looking at Dusk as another “privacy narrative.” I’m more interested in whether the idea still matters when the market gets bored and moves on to the next story.
