**News Flash: CleanSpark's Hashrate Soars by 187% in a Year**
Bitcoin miner CleanSpark has reported a whopping 187% increase in its hashrate over the past year, according to its latest fiscal report. The company's hashrate jumped from 9.6 EH/s in September 2023 to 27.6 EH/s in September 2024, with a significant 5 EH/s added just last month.
CEO Zach Bradford credits this growth to strategic acquisitions and expansions across three new states. CleanSpark now operates at least 15 mining sites, including recent acquisitions in Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
In September alone, CleanSpark mined 493 BTC, bringing its annual total to 7,098 BTC. The company’s Bitcoin holdings now stand at 8,049 BTC, with a fleet of 188,520 miners.
Despite some setbacks from Hurricane Helene, CleanSpark aims to hit a 30 EH/s hashrate by October 2024 and 50 EH/s by 2025. The company’s stock has seen a 145% increase since last September, although it's down 12% year-to-date.
Other mining firms are also expanding. Bitfarms acquired Stronghold Digital Mining for $125 million, Marathon Digital bought two sites for $179 million, and Hive Digital is setting up a 100 MW site in Paraguay. Bitcoin miners are not just boosting their capacities but also diversifying into new revenue streams like AI infrastructure support.
