Iran’s IRGC then announced missile strikes on US bases in Jordan (Al-Azraq / Muwaffaq Salti area) as retaliation. Jordan reported intercepting 18 of 20 incoming missiles; two landed in unpopulated areas and no casualties were confirmed. Iranian media claimed hits on aircraft hangars, maintenance sites and fighter-jet shelters. The exchange is the latest flare-up in a months-long conflict centred on the Strait of Hormuz and economic pressure.
