I came across a surprising story: a Chinese chili sauce maker reportedly brought in nearly $800 million in a year—and AI is now part of its production process🐮🐮

So how is it using AI?

According to a company representative, Lao Gan Ma introduced an AI-powered visual inspection system in 2025, reducing the defect rate at key production stages to 0.02%.

The system reportedly spans raw-material sorting, production quality control and supply-chain scheduling. But the clearest example is on the factory floor.

At its Changming facility in Guiyang, cameras scan the conveyor belt every 0.3 seconds. A blemished chili pepper can be spotted and blown into a reject bin by a puff of air—all within 0.3 seconds.

The production line once had more than 600 workers sorting peppers. Now, just 48 remain, providing the final quality check that still relies on human experience #AI #laoganma
