🚀 The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is actively working on two CBDC-related projects: MBridge and e-HKD. 🌐

🔹 MBridge is an initiative to create an international CBDC with the participation of the central banks of Hong Kong, China, Thailand and the UAE. The project is expected to be launched by mid-2024 and will provide an alternative to the dominant Swift payment infrastructure.

🔹 The e-HKD project aims to create a Hong Kong digital currency that can be used in various areas such as programmable payments, tokenized deposits and assets.
