Something interesting is happening in the market.

Binance’s futures leaderboard shows $UVXY up 37.70%, $SOXS up 33.58%, SKDD up 25.87% and $SQQQ up 19.74%.

But don't mistake this for a broad stock-market rally. Several of these are inverse or volatility-linked ETF contracts. Their gains can actually reflect traders positioning for weakness in tech stocks, semiconductors or the Nasdaq.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin dropped back toward $76K as the tech sell-off spread into crypto. Around $428M in crypto long positions were reportedly liquidated within an hour.

AppLovin is a standout exception, gaining after strong earnings and guidance.

My take: This looks more like a rotation toward defensive or short exposure than a simple risk-on rally.

Are traders moving away from risk, or is this just a temporary market shakeout?
