$ZEC lost about 11% in a day and slipped out of the top 10 right before its NU7 upgrade, as holders fight over a $125 million grants pool 🛡️

Zcash now sits 11th by market cap, just behind Hyperliquid. The trigger is governance: a five-person committee gets 8% of every block reward and controls more than $125 million, and co-founder Sean Bowe wants that automatic share ended. The Winklevoss twins back the push, and the committee's offer to hand back about $46 million drew pushback as too small.

One big buyer already paid for it: an address that loaded 25,002 ZEC at around $1,271 also got stopped out of a Hyperliquid long, for about $5.84 million in combined losses, per Ember. Meanwhile NU7 cuts block times from 75 seconds to 25 once it goes live in the coming days.

The upgrade fixes speed, the treasury fight decides who controls the money.

Should holders vote directly on a $125 million treasury, or leave it to a small committee? 👇
