Risk Management: The Real Secret of Trading
Most traders do not lose because their idea was wrong. They lose because one trade was too big, or there was no plan to exit. Risk management is what keeps a small loss small, and keeps you in the market long enough to learn and improve.
✅ Do this:
• Risk only a small part of your money on one trade, so one loss cannot hurt you badly
• Always decide your exit before you enter, and respect it even when it feels hard
• Keep your position size small when you are unsure, and bigger only when the setup is clear
• Take a break after a loss instead of trading again straight away to win it back
❌ Do NOT do this:
• Do not risk everything on one trade, no matter how sure you feel
• Do not trade without a stop loss or an exit plan
• Do not use very high leverage just because a big profit looks possible
• Do not do revenge trading after a loss — it usually turns one loss into a bigger one
One common mistake, explained simply: trading without a plan. A trader buys because everyone is excited, the price falls, and there is no exit decided, so the loss just grows while they hope it comes back. A trader with a plan knows the exit in advance, accepts a small loss calmly, and lives to trade another day.
Success does not come in one day. It comes from discipline, patience, risk management and learning every day.
