$BTC The Moscow Exchange intends to launch trading for Bitcoin, Ether, and Tether’s USDT on December 1, opening what it describes as Russia’s first regulated digital currency market.

The exchange said on Monday that pilot trading will begin as participants join the platform. The trading will utilize its existing stock market infrastructure and will be settled through the National Clearing Centre (NCC), with trading hours set from 6:50 AM to 11:50 PM Moscow time.

The platform will initially support same-day and next-day settlement, alongside swap transactions. Unqualified investors must pass a test before purchasing cryptocurrencies, and they will be allowed to buy up to 300,000 rubles (about $3,700) worth per year per broker, according to the exchange.

The launch follows a Russian cryptocurrency law whose main provisions came into effect on September 1. The law allows for regulated trading but maintains a ban on cryptocurrency payments for goods and services within Russia.
