The FBI blamed North Korea for Binance’s record hack of about $6.3 billion. Kim Yo Jong rejected that and called the US allegations politically motivated.

When the exchange reopened withdrawals in phases, money left fast. Binance reported about $3.64 billion in net outflows in the first stretch, equal to 2.1% of its $171 billion in customer assets, with the surge later put near $5.8 billion before volumes cooled. US spot bitcoin ETFs shed about $643 million on Friday and finished October with roughly $515 million in net monthly outflows.

Binance also posted a fresh proof of reserves so users can check 1:1 backing for bitcoin, XRP, and other listed assets while it works through restoring what was lost. South Korea already requires exchanges to keep at least 80% of customer crypto in cold wallets and is pushing them to tighten that further.
