$BTC USDT: Is the 76,600 floor about to give way?

Bitcoin is trading near $77,028.6, down 1.46% over 24 hours. Price has retreated from the $78,853.5 high and is hovering just above the $76,641 low. That is a narrow buffer; buyers have not shown a convincing recovery.

The structure is cautious. BTC is slightly above MA(7) at $76,915, but remains below MA(25) at $77,699.3 and MA(99) at $77,645.9. The short-term average offers limited support, while the higher averages form an overhead resistance band. Unless price reclaims that area, rebounds may attract sellers. The chart does not identify a confirmed news catalyst, so I would avoid blaming the decline on a specific headline. That distinction matters when volatility is already elevated.

My read: downside pressure remains active, but chasing a short above the daily low is poor execution. I want a retest and rejection first. A clean 15-minute hold above $77,800 would weaken this idea; a decisive break below $76,641 would strengthen it.

Trade plan — conditional SHORT

Entry: $77,550–$77,800 on a failed reclaim
TP1: $76,650
TP2: $76,530
TP3: $75,900
SL: $78,250

TP1 sits around the 24-hour floor, while TP2 aligns with the next visible chart level. TP3 is an extension target, not confirmed support, and needs fresh downside momentum. If BTC reclaims the MA(25)/MA(99) cluster and holds above it, I would stand aside rather than force the bearish setup.

The bigger point is that Bitcoin is testing whether the range still has buyers underneath it. A breakdown could pressure broader crypto sentiment; a strong reclaim could turn this into a failed breakdown. I’m watching the reaction at $76,641 more closely than the headline percentage.

Would you wait for a confirmed break, or look for rejection near the moving-average band?
