Most traders don't lose because of bad entries.

They lose because they don't know WHAT KIND of trader they are. 🧵

A scalper who becomes a swing trader mid-trade.
A swing trader who DCA's like an investor.
A panicked SL removal.

Strategy drift is the silent account killer. 👇
The single biggest source of losses in trading:

Not knowing your own style.

The classic pattern: you pick scalping… but when the trade goes against you, you trail the stop and turn a 15-minute scalp into a swing trade. Or you "DCA" your way out.

That's not a strategy. That's 3 strategies holding ONE losing bag.
This is textbook behavioral finance your brain is doing it on purpose:

• Disposition effect (Shefrin & Statman, 1985): sell winners too early, RIDE LOSERS TOO LONG
• Loss realization aversion: taking -2% feels worse than risking -20%
• Prospect theory: losses hurt ~2x more than gains feel good

So you convert the scalp into an "investment" to avoid feeling the loss.
The mirror error destroys swing traders:

Your plan says: DCA zone at $76K.
Price front-runs it. Fear spikes.
You delete your SL "just temporarily."

Congrats you're now a bottom-picker with no plan.

Rule: ONE exit reason per trade. The one you wrote BEFORE entry.

This isn't motivational fluff it's measured:

• Barber, Lee, Liu & Odean (Taiwan, full market): day traders' aggregate losses ≈ 2.2% of Taiwan's GDP
• Barber & Odean: the most active retail traders significantly underperform buy-and-hold
• Persistence studies: very few day traders stay profitable over years

Style-hopping makes every one of those numbers worse.
The fix — 5 lines:

1. Pick ONE style: scalp (minutes-hours), swing (days-weeks), long-term (months+)
2. Entry, TP, SL written BEFORE every trade
3. Fixed risk per trade an amount you could lose 20x in a row and survive
4. DCA only if it was in the ORIGINAL plan never as a rescue
5. Journal every style switch. Your P&L will show the pattern within a week

Markets don't beat you.

Your undefined identity does.
