🇺🇸🇮🇷 The UAE says it is preparing for the WORST as Trump threatens renewed strikes on Iran, even while diplomats race to prevent another round of war.
Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed, said Gulf states are hoping for a diplomatic breakthrough but remain “braced for the worst.”
The warning comes as Iranian envoys arrive in Qatar for further negotiations following more than 12 hours of mediation in Tehran earlier this week.
Iran has suggested the Strait of Hormuz could reopen within two days of an agreement, but Tehran is demanding sanctions relief, access to frozen funds, reduced American military deployments and an end to fighting in Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Trump says the U.S. still has “one or two” Iranian targets to deal with, having also claimed American forces could strike Iran's remaining nuclear sites in just 10 minutes.
Washington insists negotiations remain open, while Marco Rubio says Trump has yet to decide whether to launch fresh attacks.
For the UAE, which was itself targeted during the war that began in February, another confrontation might be disasterous, especially since Iran is now warning of a 'surprise' weapon against the U.S.
