What are MA7, MA25, MA99? The Trend Detector for Crypto
In futures trading, MA means Moving Average. It shows the average price of a coin for the last X candles.
MA(7): The Fast Trader
This is the 7-candle average. It moves very fast with price.
If price is above MA7, short-term buyers are in control. If price is below MA7, sellers are in control.
In your chart, #S $S is trading at 0.03906 while MA7 is 0.04563. Price is below MA7, so it is short-term bearish.
MA(25): The Mid-Term Support
This is the 25-candle average. It is the main trend filter.
Big traders use it to decide if the main trend is still alive.
In your chart, MA25 is 0.03349. #S $S is still above it, so the mid-term uptrend is not fully broken yet. This level often acts as a strong support. Same happens with #Solana $SOL and #Ethereum $ETH, they often bounce from MA25 in a bull market.
MA(99): The Big Boss
This is the 99-candle average. It shows the big, long-term trend.
If price is above MA99, we are in a long-term bull market. If below, long-term bearish.
In your chart MA99 is showing --, because there is not enough history yet for 99 weekly candles.
For a coin like #Bitcoin $BTC, price staying above MA99 on the weekly chart for months is a sign that long-term holders are still confident.
How traders combine them - The Golden Rule:
1. When MA7 crosses above MA25, it is called a Golden Cross - bullish signal. Example: $BTC crossing above MA25 last month started its rally.
2. When MA7 crosses below MA25, it is called a Death Cross - bearish signal. Example: what we are seeing now in $S, price came down from 0.07392 and MA7 is bending down.
3. When price is between MA7 and MA25, it is a No Trade Zone. Risky area.
Example on your coin #S $S:
Price 0.03906 is stuck between two MAs.
Resistance on top: 0.04563 (MA7)
Support at bottom: 0.03349 (MA25)
A breakout above MA7 could target 0.05946, a breakdown below MA25 could open 0.02239.
Other coins to watch with same setup: #BNB $BNB, #AVAX $AVAX, #ARB $ARB - they all respect MA25 and MA99 very well on the 1W chart.
Always use MA with Stop Loss.
