🚨 BINANCE UPDATES ITS PROOF OF RESERVES — HERE'S WHY IT MATTERS! 🔍

A 2,000 BTC transfer recently caught the attention of on-chain trackers after the funds moved from Binance to an unfamiliar wallet.

But there’s an important detail behind this transaction.

Yi He clarified that the destination was actually a newly created Binance wallet.

So, what’s happening?

🔹 1. New Wallet Addresses Added

Binance has updated its Proof of Reserves (PoR) address list with newly generated wallets. According to the exchange, future withdrawals will be processed through these new addresses as part of its ongoing security improvements following the reported $6.3 billion security incident.

🔹 2. Why Should Users Care?

Proof of Reserves isn't just about showing how much crypto an exchange holds.

It also involves proving that customer liabilities are properly accounted for.

There are two important parts:

On-chain wallet addresses showing reserve assets.

Zero-knowledge proof demonstrating that user liabilities are covered.

When wallet addresses change, independent trackers need to update their records to avoid misinterpreting legitimate transfers.

🔹 3. What Are We Still Waiting For?

A few important questions remain unanswered:

• How many new wallet addresses have been introduced? • Will the previous reserve addresses be phased out? • When will the complete zero-knowledge proof become available?

The full proof is expected around November 3.

My Take: Transparency matters more than just showing large wallet balances. Investors should look at both the reserve addresses and the liability verification before judging an exchange's financial transparency.

What matters more to you: visible on-chain reserves or independently verifiable Proof of Reserves?
