i traced who issues the cards in your wallet and what broke this year 👇
> Jun 1: Gnosis Pay exploited for $1.5M, cards offline for days, Gnosis took the loss
> Jul 28: Kulipa winds down, 120,000+ cards across about 20 apps stop working, Solflare and Ready included
> Aug 8: Cypher cards end after the Nium deal
> Aug 28: an old Rain contract on Solana gets drained, 1,685 Avici users lose $500,859 and 636 Tria users lose $430K+
> Sep 21: Gnosis Pay tells holders the card dies on Dec 20
> Oct 31: Cardano Card ends because Wirex drops custody
now the part i think everyone even on CX is missing
per @0xVishnya's BIN data, 13 cards sit on Rain BINs and Krak, OKX, MetaMask and Gnosis Pay sit on Monavate BINs.
Monavate has a public paper trail:
> Dec 4 2025: Bank of Lithuania fines it €270,000 for AML failures
> Dec 29 2025: it is barred from serving Kulipa, Immersve and 4 other partners
> Jul 2026: Kulipa stops all cards
i can't prove one caused the other. the dates are public.
on funds:
> Solflare and Ready spend from your own wallet at checkout, so nobody lost money and the cards died anyway
> Avici top ups sat in a shared Rain contract and that is what got drained, Avici refunded plus 10%
> Gnosis Pay is self custody and still got hit by a module bug
my take: the issuer is the single point of failure of your card and most programs do not disclose who it is.
check the BIN before you load.
keep a backup card on a different issuer.
